I am a long-time fan of patricia mukhim’s photography. She’s a talented photographer, but she makes her work very personal. Her portraits are of people who are very real and have a real story to tell. These portraits give the viewer an awareness that we are in the same room as the subject and can’t do anything but enjoy the view.
I think that the portraits that she takes are so beautiful because of the way they capture the essence of the person. To give you an example, I think that she captures the essence of a person who’s in the throes of despair, but she also captures the essence of someone who is very strong and in control of her emotions. She also works with great detail and is very detail-oriented.
As a matter of fact, Patricia Mukhim is a real-life artist. She has had her work featured in the New York Times, New York Magazine, People, Entertainment Weekly, and many other publications. She even had a solo show at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she was awarded the PEN/Faulkner Award in 2003.
