In the age of big data, where data is everywhere, it’s important to keep up, to stay on the pulse. I’ve been in the social media age for a while now. It’s not just what you say on Twitter, it’s how you say it that matters.
I’m not saying that you should always say everything, and then just be yourself. But when you say something in a way that makes sure you aren’t misconstrued, people will notice. And this is especially true if you’re a woman (or anyone of a minority who is still trying to get enough visibility). When you say something that is a little too “insensitive” or “out of touch,” people may think you’re being too sensitive or out of touch.
There are some instances where people will misconstrued how a person is being perceived. For example, a person may be perceived as being insensitive to a person with disabilities (or anyone who is different than them in any way). And yet, every time I look at a group of people it seems that they are more and more confident in their abilities. I think this is because we all have different talents and abilities. So as we become more comfortable identifying with our abilities, we tend to become more confident in our abilities. This works both ways, as you can see in the story trailer.
