It is easy to forget that our lives are an aggregate of many complex and interrelated things. The things we do, the things we think, the things we feel, the people we meet, the places we go, the things we buy, and the things we eat is just the sum total of all of the variables that all of these things together create.
Sometimes we forget that this is all completely in our control, and that nothing comes for free. When we forget this, we start to feel like we’re a victim of our own personal karma. The more we can control our thoughts and our actions, the more we can control our destiny.
A person will always feel like they have to do something. They feel like they are part of something, and they need to feel it for themselves. But if they have the tools to do so, they would be able to do so. What’s more, they are in a position to feel the emotional and social pressure that comes from the fact that they are on a mission. It’s not like they are going to sit back and let someone else do their work.
The same thing applies to the concept of making decisions, which is about as real as it gets. If a person gets the tools to make a decision they can feel the pressure that comes from them to make the decision, and it feels real.
This reminds me of a conversation I had with a friend who was a student in the early 1990s. She was a biology major and made an extremely valuable point: If you think you can do something, you can. If you think you can’t do something, you can’t. She was a biology major and she had a point. I’ve found that the same can be said about the concept of “If you can do something, you can.
If you think you can do something, you can. If you think you cant do something, you cant. This means that the decision to do something or not to do something is not a black-or-white one. It’s a spectrum. We get that. We all do.
