I’m a bit of a gear junkie, and I have been since I was a kid. I’ve tried everything from crutches to crampons to weight machines, and I have always found a reason to use a weight machine. In fact, if I had my way, I would never use a normal weight machine again.
I do believe that anyone who has tried a weight machine should be able to say that they are a gear junkie. However, like any other training method, it is important to know how to adjust your own method to achieve the results you want.

This reminds me of what happened when I started lifting in my twenties. I was a very strong guy. I took a few lessons from a friend who was a strength coach and who was very good at motivating me. In the beginning I did OK, but slowly I just lost confidence and stopped using the weights. I always felt like I needed someone to guide me.
The problem is that the coach was always right. I had a coach who told me to take a few weeks of vacation and get my weight back up so that I could start back lifting. He made a great point that a lot of people start lifting for the first time with a coach and are then completely lost without one.
ioc removed weightlifting and introduced it as a new workout for people who are weak but not out of shape. It’s a good exercise for people who would like to increase strength and get in shape.
I’ve seen some people who are weak and out of shape, who want to get in better shape, and want to work out, start lifting weights, but I’ve also seen many people who are stronger than they were at their weakest and would like to get back in shape. I think it’s great that people are working out and lifting weights to get stronger and that ioc is bringing this stuff back into the fitness community. I hope it makes a good comeback to the fitness community.
