Thats not to say that autopilot isnt good and it isnt bad. Its just a fact. Most of us are just doing it so we can get stuff done. Its not that there isnt anything to do, its just that we can’t think of anything. We are on autopilot.

I think that’s why the majority of the people we meet, and even the ones we talk to, are also on autopilot. It’s just easier for them to let their own thoughts and actions take them where they need to go. They just can’t remember why they’re there and it just seems so easy to do.

Well, no, I don’t think that’s the whole story. I think it is that we are just not aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions. I think that is why we are so likely to get ourselves into trouble.

That’s not to say that there is no value in being aware of our own habits and routines. There is value in learning how to be aware of our own actions and reactions. We are what make us. We are the ones we are able to control and influence. We are what gets us into fights and into the situations we find ourselves in, and if we don’t like our surroundings, we can always go back.
