So this is a new blog post. I am writing this because one of the topics in the blog is about the “Three Levels of Self-Awareness”, which is one of the most fascinating topics of self-awareness.
The most common misconception about self-awareness is that it’s only for humans. There are also animals with it, dolphins, whales, and even dolphins with knowledge of their world. It’s also true that we do have it too, just not in the way that most people think.
We have it, but we’re not really aware of it.
When it comes to self-awareness, the best definition of self-awareness comes from Albert Ellis, who defines self-awareness as being aware of our own thoughts, feelings, and actions. He goes on to say that this is a very important step, but is usually not a good or productive one. While we may be aware of our own thoughts, feelings, and actions, it is not a very useful awareness.
I don’t personally use the word self-awareness, because it doesn’t quite describe the process we experience. I use the word awareness. While our thoughts, feelings, and actions are always running on autopilot, they are also aware of what we are thinking, feeling, and doing. The same can be said for the actions of other people. This is why it’s important to take conscious actions with regards to our own behaviors and how we treat others.
Self-awareness, in my opinion, is a much more useful concept than awareness. We can think of ourselves as “aware” of how we feel or the way we act. We can think of ourselves as “aware” of others. A really useful awareness is to be able to change the way we treat others or their feelings. For example, if I feel that my sister deserves a friendlier behavior, I can stop being an asshole, and start being a friendlier.
In other words, self-awareness is not a separate thing from awareness. What we have is awareness of our own behavior. Self-awareness is simply being aware of ourselves, and our own behavior.
Our bodies tell us when we are in the mood to do something. If we want to eat, we can feel the urge to do so. If we want to sleep, we can feel the urge to do so. We can also know what it is we want to do. Even if we are not aware of these urges (which is common) we can be aware that we are desiring something. But this awareness doesn’t mean that we think our actions are right.
