This is a brilliant post that really touches on an important topic, one that I have been thinking about a lot lately: self-awareness. It is the ability to be aware of our thoughts, feelings, and reactions. We live in a world that is constantly inundated with information and we are constantly bombarded with advertising. We are constantly told we need to be on our guard all the time. We are constantly bombarded with pop-ups, advertisements, and other junk.
I don’t mean to sound like I’m preaching, but here’s my take on being aware of your thoughts. When I read books, when I watch TV, when I listen to music, I don’t just think. I think. I think about these thoughts, I think about my feelings about them, and I think about how I feel about them. If I’m not paying attention to what I’m thinking, if I’m not paying attention to my feelings, then I just react.
It seems like we are programmed to do that. When we are young all of the time, we are programmed to think about our feelings and emotions and to feel what they are saying to us. As we grow older we become so busy thinking about what we are doing that we forget that we are thinking about ourselves. We act on what we feel without even thinking about it.
I think it all boils down to this: We humans have a lot of “thinking in our head” and we have a lot of “doing in our heart.” Our thoughts are our first selves, our most important selves, and we have so many of them that it is hard to remember to “be with” them or to “not do” something.
For some people, this process is so intense that they experience a type of paralysis in which they lose control of themselves. If this is you, try to take some time to think of the kind of thoughts that you would like to have and then, in the moment, act on them.
We all do this. We think, plan, imagine, and then act. We have so many thoughts, plans, and images that it’s hard to remember to be with them or not do something. We all have many selves, and we all have to practice being with and not acting on those selves.
A good way to practice being with many selves is to practice being with one or less selves. There’s no need to remember to be with all selves at once. Practice being with a few selves and then gradually move on to the rest. For example, I was trying to decide what I really wanted to do with my life at the time I wrote this article. The answer was to become a writer, but I had many selves that I wanted to write about.
One way we can practice being with and not acting on our selves is by becoming aware of our selves and not acting on our selves. One way to do this is by practicing being with our true selves, our True Self, our True Self. You realize that you are not who you thought you were and that you are not what you thought you were but you are the True Self that you really are. The True Self is the Self that your True Self is.
If you don’t want to learn to be aware of your own True Self, you can try and learn to be aware of your True Self, but that’s not the same as being aware of yourself. As a writer I knew I had many selves that I wanted to write about, and I wanted to write about them all. I thought I’d write a book about my own True Self, but the book was never finished.
A person with True Self is like a ghost who is not looking after the world. When you’re not looking after the world and you don’t want to keep it all as a ghost you can keep the world a ghost, and just keep your True Self and your True Self in your heart. When you are looking after the world and you don’t want to keep it all as a ghost you can keep the world a ghost, and just keep your True Self and the True Self in your heart.
